What’s BPO career is all about?

A BPO career revolves around the core activity of delivering business process outsourcing services. This involves voice (telephone) and non-voice (email, chat) based customer interaction services, transaction processing, telemarketing, technical support or analyzing of customer specific data. It also involves back-end jobs such as claims processing and processing of Finance and Accounting transactions.
The BPO industry now provides long-term career growth for young graduates in varied streams and opportunities exist for persons with higher qualifications as well at senior levels. The BPO industry is more open to fresh graduates than any other field of service and also invests in the fresh workforce by helping the candidate grow from the very first level. India possesses a well-developed system of higher education, which accounts for about 85,000 graduates each year.

The BPO boom is the Indian youth’s newest mantra, Indian BPO outsourcing resources developed in computer literate workers, who speak English as their first language. This makes them cost effective compared to other outsourcing countries.

Skills you need to join a BPO are:

- Good verbal and written skill in English.
- If you prefer voice based jobs, you need clear voice.
- Good typing speed.
- Basic computer knowledge.
- Strong customer support and willing to learn more.

- Willing to work in shift basis.
- Qualification: Any graduate degree.
