  5. Thanks avinandita for visiting the blog.

Now since you are applying for a scholarship interview, and not a job interview the answer to the mentoined question should be tailored according to it.

Like you need to first introduce yourself(Ur name, and Ur recent credentials) than you need to showcase your strengths( which will show ur attitude) and finally why you want to make a career in the stream(which will showcase ur determination).

    Thanks for visiting the blog.

Dont get nervous when you are facing an interview. Before attending any interview, try to write down in a paper how would you describe yourself.

Be prepared before the interview. The problem with you is you are not prepared for interview. Hence you stumble when you answer to the queries. Go through the blog and you will learn on how to answer to different questions in an interview.

Still if you face any problem, mail me at uttam.agrawal@lntinfotech.com

    plzzz help me out....

    ReplyDelete
  42. Hi Sarath,

"Tell me something About Yourself" is the basic question of any interview.

You can say, “Mechanical Engineering was what I was looking to do after my intermediate exams as I was fascinated for working on machines and motors. But when I was doing my engineering, slowly I got more interested in programming languages. After learning subjects like C, C++, I learned that these subjects involve a lot of skills and thought processing which I really love to do. Hence my passion and hobby towards the subject is driving me to join an IT Company, so that I can learn more and prove my mettle.”

Your answer should show that you are really hungry to get into IT Sector. And remember one thing, interviewers don’t look into answers, but their main focus is always on how u approach to a particular question.

All the best for the interviews and do let me know once u get selected.

    Thanks & Regards,
    Uttam Agrawal.

When you face the question "Tell me something about yourself / Introduce Yourself" please do not include your schooling. Since all these details are very much there in your resume.

Talk about your strengths, your hobbies, your interests & your achievements.

    Thanks For visiting the website.

Since you have graduated in the year 2010, you almost had a 2 year gap from your academics,Your answer should include your education, your strengths, hobbies and interest.

Tell me what drives you to join banking sector. Tell them that during the gap of 2 year u have been preparing hard for Clerk exams.

Do proper research on the bank.

And the best mantra to succeed in any interview " Be confident & smile Throughout the interview".

When you are asked "Tell me something about yourself that is not in your resume", try to state your strengths and qualities that makes you stand you from other candidates.

    Sample answer:

I am a continuous learner and I try to keep myself abreast of all developments in the field of IT (or any other). Since I do not quit in the face of toughest challenges, I am certain that I would be able to achieve the targets that I set for myself and beyond.

One suggestion: Don't think too much.
If you are attending a technical interview, then you just be thorough with basics as the interviewer just tries to find out whether you are comfortable with basics or not.

Regarding HR interview, i have provided a lot of sample answers in the website itself. I would recommend you to make your own answers, so that you get to know yourself and analyze yourself better.

  74. Hello sir

My name is Mohit pareek I am an B.com Graduate (accounts honors) 2009 batch, i had 15 months of work experience in ERP Tally 9. Then on wards i starting preparation for various Mba entrance Exams ,In 2010 I am selected for the interview of various Colleges but not able convert the calls . As i Calculated my mistakes i found I am good in Group discussion but Facing Personal Interview is Something Like Riding On Tiger , I get nervous and results in fall in my performances .
This year also Given Various entrance tests and started getting calls from different institutes , but i don't want to repeat same mistakes that i had previously made . So please help me to tackle those situation .
At this point of time I am preparing for interview in XISS ranchi , for PGDM in Personal management (same as Human resource management) Please help me in Preparing answers for personal interview , as some Question i am mentioning below

1: Mohit - tell me something about yourself .
2: What experience do you have in this field?
3: Are you applying for other Colleges/ institutes?
    4: Why Xiss?
5: What you can give to our institution / why should we take you ?
6: Tell me your strength and weakness?
    7: what inspires You?

Please rhelp in preparing these answers.
    Regards
    Mohit pareek.

    ReplyDelete
  75. Hi Mohit,

    Thanks For visiting the blog.

See Mohit, what you answer to their questions matters least, but what matters most is your confidence. Always believe in yourself. No body can teach you to believe in yourself.

The only way to boost your confidence is to be well prepared before the interview. Try to jot down the answers to all the above questions in your own words (you can find sample answers here but don't follow it blindly). Try to speak in front of a mirror. Make your body language confident.

That's all you need my friend.

For "Tell Me Something About Yourself" tell them about your strengths that can help you to become a better manager in the future. Show through your body language that you are raring to go for the management program.

"Why This Institute" - Here you need to do some homework. Go through websites, speak to some seniors and passouts and try to learn from them, what are the best things about this particular institute. Don't give them a blunt answer like this is one of the prestigious institute in India and you would like to be a part of it. Your answer should reflect that you have done necessary homework.

All the best for your future and may god help you to get through in one of the best MBA colleges in India.

    Regards,
    Uttam Agrawal.

  105. Hi Uttam, you are actually doing a Great(Uttam) job. I guess you should compile all of this and publish a book "Tips on Interview Preparation". Really like your blog, the confidence reflects upon the answers. This is if you look at it, is your way of giving back to the society!

Many congratulations for all the good work.

    Cheers,

  109. Hi Uttam,

Well, I am looking for a managerial opening in a BPO or related industry.
I have a difficulty,That i have been working for my current company for the last 10.years offcourse i have been promoted more then twice as well. and currently in a comfortable situation as far as perfromance is concerned.

I think it may become difficult for me to answer the below questions.

Q1. Why are you leaving your current company?

How should i answer this, considering that working in the same organisation in this industry may sound like,"settled with goals etc". Not competent, etc etc.

Can you suggest provide some thought here

    Regards,
    Bj,

  110. Hi...my particular issue with interviewing is I ALWAYS feel like I did a great job of interviewing. I use techniques described here, as well as from other professionals, but I have yet to receive a job offer after over a year of unemployment. I have exceptional administrative skills with 20+ years of experience working in professional corporate environments, received substantial raises due to my performance and proactive nature always wanting to learn something new that would benefit the organization. Unfortunately, I worked many years in the aircraft industry and laid off after many years of service during each company's lean times because I had lower seniority than other Admins. I know I'm not the only candidate, and in fact, know there are 100's of others that are just as qualified as myself. Just can't seem to find that something "unique" about me to land the job. I was surprised to find after my last layoff many job postings for Admin Assts require a "Bachelor Degree" What? I have EXPERIENCE. I'm mature. I bring knowledge, skills, abilities, ethics, loyalty, passion about my work to the job. I'm also 57 yrs old, which is very intimidating when sitting across the desk from a hiring manager the same age as my daughter.
Signed...Frustrated and feeling "over the hill"
